I am starting pitcher and third baseman on both my travel and high school teams. I attend Saint Augustine Preparatory School in Richland, NJ ,an all-boys school, which consistently has one of the top-ranked baseball programs in the state of New Jersey. I am a recognized leader amongst my teammates. I arrive early to practice and am often still practicing long after everyone else packs it in for the day. Often coming home after practice and returning to the local fields again to long toss, field balls, pitch, take batting practice, or I head to the gym or a baseball lesson.
I also believe that to be an exceptional player that I must be a leader of character. I do this by being an example for my peers through respecting the game, my coaches, teammates, umpires, and the opposing team. It also means that I am responsible for my actions and behaviors off the field, and so I work hard to be a good citizen by volunteering in my community while also working diligently to maintain a high academic standing in my classes. I am looking for a college or university that allows me to excel both on and off the baseball field, and I am confident that I possess the baseball skills, character, and leadership traits to become an exceptional player and leader for your baseball program.
Sincerely,
Sean Cottrell
