Corey Arnold '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Corey Arnold, Class of 2016, and I attend Hamilton High School (Ohio Division 1A) in Hamilton, Ohio. I am a power hitting 1B/3B player that is 6' 0" and 225 lbs. I am now playing for Canes Baseball in South West Ohio. We are a National team that plays in Elite and National level tournaments. In the fall of 2014, we played in Wood Bat Showcases at Notre Dame,Ohio State, Wright State, Eastern Kentucky, and the University of Indianapolis. On the fall season (20 games), I batted .385 against 17u and 18u teams. In my freshman season, I led the HHS Freshman team in doubles with 13 and had several multi-hit, multi-RBI games and was the starting first basemen.  I am a team player with a high baseball IQ, and can hit to all areas of the field.

My family has instilled into me a strong work ethic that I utilize in academics and in athletics. I have been very fortunate in that I have been able to get professional instruction in hitting and fielding for many years. I am currently working with an outstanding hitting and fielding instructor and former college baseball manager, Rob Brockman, of Cincinnati, Ohio.  I have also been working this offseason with Josh Harrison (Pittsburgh Pirates) and Vince Harrison (Arizona Diamondbacks - Hitting Instructor) on fielding and hitting. This offseason I am working out at Mason Crossfit, working on strength and agility. When I am not working with my high school team or summer travel team, I work out at SWOBAT baseball training facility in Southwest Ohio. My personal goal is to attack my weaknesses with hard work and quality practice and make them strengths, and to take my strengths and make them even stronger.

My education is equally important to me and earning a degree that will propel me into my future career is a big priority. I am open to quality academic schools of any size that have competitive baseball programs. I am currently undecided on a major, but I am exploring my areas of interest in Engineering, Criminal Justice, Business, and Marketing. I am taking AP and Honors classes and I am in the Honors Academy at Hamilton High School. My current weighted GPA is 3.639/4.0 and I am in the top 10% of my class. I have been on the Honor Roll in every year of my education. I was on the Freshman Student Senate and was inducted into the Junior National Honor Society. In my sophomore year I was inducted into the National Honor Society. A goal that I would like to achieve while attending college is to be an All-Academic Athlete.

I love baseball and have great respect for the game and the people that dedicate themselves to playing and coaching it. I am a team player that encourages my teammates to be better on and off the field.
