Ethan Humble’s 20...
2020 HighlightsMy name is Ethan Humble. I am currently a senior, class of 2021 at Phoenix High School in Phoenix, Oregon. I am 5’10” and weigh 190lbs. My current grade point average is 3.77 and I am ranked 24th out of 150 juniors in my class. I am enrolled in honors courses, and recently met the requirements to join the National Honor Society.
At the age of four years old, I got my first baseball glove and began my baseball journey. As a little boy, I played Little League, moved into competitive travel baseball as a middle school student, and now spend my time playing baseball at my high school at the varsity level. Through these experiences, I have come to realize my true love, passion, and respect for the game of baseball and my desire to compete at the next level.
I am a right-handed hitter and pitcher. My primary position is pitcher but I can also play first, third and centerfield. As a freshman, I was on the varsity team and the starting pitcher in the varsity lineup. Later on that year, I was awarded honorable mention, All-Conference pitcher in our Skyline conference.
During the summer, I play on a Legion team and train and lift in the offseason diligently. I have also played basketball and wrestle for my high school to keep in shape for the baseball season. When I am not on the baseball field, I enjoy fishing on the Rogue River, spending time with my family, especially my two younger brothers. This past fall I had the opportunity to give back to my baseball community by volunteering to coach a 10U baseball team. This proved to be a very inspiring endeavor. Through this experience, I am proud to have had the opportunity to influence and share my knowledge about a sport I love. This experience also solidified my desire to pursue a degree in education.
I would prefer to stay on the west coast because it is important to me to be close to my family, but if the right opportunity presented itself, I would be open to taking the path that leads me to the most competitive baseball. I know there is always room for improvement, which drives my desire to persevere and pursue my goal of playing ball at the college level.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement,
Ethan Humble
