Personal Statement
Baseball has been a love of mine since I was little. I remember hitting wiffle balls in the back yard with my dad when I was five and six years old, and I never wanted those sessions to end. I played every spring for Little League and school teams since I was five and started playing for fall-ball/tournament teams when I was ten years old. My role on my teams has been as a reliable, hard-working, and positive contributor. I don't get rattled in tough situations.
My goal for the future--both tomorrow and ten years from now--is to be my best at whatever I do. I have been described by adults as a "good person" and an "upstanding young man." I credit my parents and the adults who led my scout troops and coached my sports teams for helping me grow up well. I appreciate the teachings they have provided, and the opportunities presented to me. I do not take them for granted.
I am currently working on my Eagle Scout project and plan on having it completed soon. I enjoy fishing, fabricating, gardening, and playing basketball, both for my school as well as pickup games with my friends. I live on three acres and we have a large garden, beef cattle, 120 blueberry plants, and fruit trees. I enjoy riding quads and dirt bikes, and working on engines. I work at a ranch a few days a month.
My school experience has been great, and I haven't missed a day of school for years. My favorite classes are agriculture, biology, chemistry, and metal fabrication. My parents are teachers (my dad is now a fireman) so a love of learning has been fostered since I was young.
I want to play baseball in college, and beyond. I am prepared to develop and hone my craft to achieve that goal.
Thank you,
