In college, not only would I love to play baseball, but I also need to work hard in class and studying so that I can prepare myself for life after baseball.
As a player, I always give my all in games and try my hardest to get better on a day to day basis in practice. I live for competition so I do not take kindly to losing. I know that baseball is a team sport and every once in a while a three hitter might have to drop down a bunt to move a runner over whether he feels he can win the game off his own bat or giving the four hitter a chance. Bragging is one thing that I never liked to do. So what if I had a good game here and there. When people ask me, "how good are you?" I hate to respond. Instead I tell them, "just come out to a game and watch, then you can tell me." I was always taught that actions speak louder than words. Stats speak for themselves.
On another note, I have done a lot of lifting and speed training over the years between our school team and going to a trainer. Knowing that there is still always room for improvement, I use that as my push to keep working to get better, stronger, and faster.
In school, I try my hardest to stay as academically sound as possible. I some things just don't come easily to me. Math has always been my strongest subject along with English classes and other electives. Foreign languages and science concepts are harder for me to understand. In these classes, I am forced to try harder and study longer. Even though my grades have fallen a little bit during my junior year, I still feel I am like a sponge absorbing most of the information all of my teachers are throwing at me. When finals come around, I feel I will be ready to take them all.
