Dylan Beard '21 Recruiting Profile

    Baseball has and always will be a huge part of my life. I have been playing ever since I was four years old, and I have been in love with it ever since. Baseball has taught me how to be a leader, how to effectively communicate, and how to work with others in a team setting. It has also taught me how to face adversity and to stay positive, even when the team is down. But most importantly, it has taught me to have pride and integrity, even in defeat, and to show sportsmanship to the other team no matter what happened on the field. These lessons translate into my everyday life and into my school work. 

My goals for high school are to graduate in the top five percent of my class and acquire as many AP/college credits that I can. In college, I am going to set the same high standard that I did in high school and be dedicated and diligent in getting my work done as well as being reliable and trustworthy to my teammates and coaches. 

I am one of the lead peer mediators at Cedar Crest High School. Peer Mediation is a group that mediates problems between students before they are disciplined. I have done this since 8th grade, and I use leadership and communication every day to help solve problems. I have been influenced by many things throughout my life. My parents have always taught me to be courteous and respectful to everyone, and I take pride in the fact that I do this every day. I currently attend Times Square Church Summit Campus, and my relationship with Jesus Christ, whom I have accepted as my lord and savior, has kept me grounded and helped me grow as an individual.
