Personal Statement

My top priorities are to obtain an excellent education while continuing to play the sport I love (Baseball) at a college level. My strengths are my work ethic and drive for perfection. I have always worked harder than others at school, baseball and other activities such as math league. The most important things in my life include family (as well as religion), school, baseball and close friends.

I am a starting pitcher and first baseman for the Phantoms. We play in many tournaments over the summer, mostly in Ohio, and we took a trip to Rehoboth Beach to play in the Sports at the Beach tournament.

I played for Washington in the Pony League World Series. We played Czech Republic and won 17-4, we played Mexico and lost 7-1, and we played Chesterfield, Virginia and lost 5-3. I went 5-11 and won the Voytek award, given to the player with the highest average on the Washington team. I pitched 7 innings total, closing the game against Czech Republic, and 6 more against Mexico, unfortunately losing that game. We made history by becoming the first Washington team to ever beat an international team.

To be honest, it was one of the greatest time of my life. We came in 67th place out of 104 teams.The competition was stiff, but I had so much fun. I batted a little over .500,and had one home run. I pitched 10 innings, and did very well, getting one of our two wins.

I have been trained at C-Side for numerous years and they have taken me from an inexperienced eight year old to being a freshman on varsity. Some of the main trainers that have taught me include Chris Sidick, Kevin Slowey, Casey Barnes, Scott Downer, Tony Kostelnik, Dave Carfley, and Rob Defillippo.
