Personal Statement

I have a passion to excel. Whether it is in the classroom or on the baseball field; on the ski slopes or building things, I enjoy being the best I can be.  I have been taught well by my parents and mentors and I have learned four critical life skills in helping me be my best.

  1. I prepare – I love working on the little things.  Hard work comes easy to me. I think because I have a high pain threshold. But I love spending hours on skill building – fielding and hitting, physical strength and speed, and mental approach.
  2. I lead – with the wisdom of great mentors and coaches in my life, I have realized that I play better when those around me play well and are relaxed  I lead by example – first to the field, first to my defensive position, and first to pick up the dugout, to name a few.  I lead by encouragement.  I build people up instead of tearing them down.  But in all things, I view my leadership style as one of serving.  This keeps my focus off myself which frees me up and keeps me loose.
  3. I compete – growing up with a dad who is a former college football player, a mom who is a college professor at DBU, and twin sisters who are both athletes and very smart, competition has been ingrained in me.  Giving up is never an option, no matter the pain level or the score whether in baseball or pin pong or math.
  4. I learn – academics, specifically a career in business, computer science or engineering is in my future.  Just as my learning fuels my pursuit of excellence in the classroom, that same desire to learn fuels my passion to master the art of fielding and hitting.  As much as I pray and work for an opportunity to play college baseball, I want to play for a school where I will be prepared and pushed to achieve my academic and professional goals.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
