Growing up, I played soccer, basketball, and football. However, from the age of four I played baseball and it became my favorite sport. In high school, I was a four-year varsity letterman at Boerne High School in Boerne, TX, where I was a unanimous selection all-district infielder, batted third in the lineup, and was a starting pitcher. We won our district and made it to the playoffs all four years I was there. For five years, I also was the starting shortstop and a starting pitcher for my summer traveling team, the San Antonio Lobos.
Currently, I am a sophomore at Coastal Bend College in Beeville, TX. I play shortstop and second base. One of my goals is to play well enough this spring that I can continue to play baseball next year at a four-year college or university.
I am very interested in seeing more of the world. I have been fortunate enough to travel to different parts of the United States as well as Central America and have seen what it is like in places other than where I grew up. I realize I have been very fortunate in my life and I would like to continue to travel, observe more cultures, and hopefully one day be able to make other people’s lives better.
I am not sure what my career goals are right now. I have spent much effort over the past ten years on baseball. Hopefully, over the next few years I will find and focus on some professional path that is both fulfilling and of benefit to others.
