Coby Whitaker '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coach, My name is Coby Whitaker and I am a student athlete at Byron P. Steele high school. I am very interested in furthering my education, and using baseball to do so.

I am currently a senior at Byron P. Steele II High School located in Cibolo, Texas Div. 6-A. My position is RHP which I have been a varsity starter for 3.5 years.  On the mound, I throw 5 pitches, four of them I can command at any time for strikes. I top out at 87 and consistently throw between 84-86.  My senior season, I am also playing Left Field and have topped out 88 from the outfield.  My 60 yd time is a 6.6. Throughout High School, I have maintained a 3.0 GPA and will be graduating in May of 2015.  On the mound, I work harder than anybody on the field, and I hope to be able to use my skills to play collegiate baseball.

Some things that I would like you to know about me is that I am very competitive. When it comes to bettering my future, I will do anything I can do to make my dream of being a successful businessman come true. I am very coachable when it comes to pitching, because to me pitching is the main aspect of baseball that draws me to love it.  I love the feeling of command on the mound and knowing that the games fate is decided based off how I compared to the opposing pitcher do. I feel that even though I'm not the biggest pitcher around, I make up for that by having pitches I can use for any situation to help my offenses job easier, and by having a somewhat hard fastball that has a natural movement of a two seam.
