My name is DeJuan Lewis. I’m 16 years old and I’m a rising Junior at Shadow Creek High School class of 2022. I’m from Houston, Texas and I live in Pearland.
My collegiate goals/aspirations includes Engineering. Engineering has been a career interest since first hearing about my dad’s assignment in Chemical Refinery as a Boiler Maker-Pipe Fitter and now Plumber. My dad exposed me to skills that include working under pressure, problem solving, thinking outside of the box, team work, communication skills and more. Through conversations with my parents and a few mentors, the idea of Engineering came up a few times, so I did some research. By definition, an engineer is a person who designs, builds, or maintains engines, machines, or public works. A person who puts things together. I quickly realized that I had a passion for this without awareness. The areas of Engineering that I have most interests in are Mechanical and Plumbing. Academically, I had developed a love for math and science-and I knew this could directly support a possible career in engineering. I continued learning more and discovered that Plumbing Engineers have skills in both civil and mechanical engineering; and I was immediately up for the challenge. My schedule for the fall includes: AP Pre-Calculus, English III, AP Physics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Technical Theatre, US History A/B and Athletics/Football 3.
My results driven mentality and commitment to my growth and development both academically and athletically- makes me a good candidate for your team. I'm determined, responsible and a young man of integrity.

Character: Young man of faith, Determined, Disciplined and dedicated.
