-Henry Ford
This quote has been the driving force in my life as I look beyond my high school years. Since I can remember, I have always been surrounded by influential people in my life, who have instilled in me the importance of having a positive mindset. Whether it is through academic accomplishment, or my attitude before, during, and after a game, my mentality is what has helped me grow from each experience. Academically, or athletically, I like to sit and think about how I see myself performing prior to facing an assignment or an opponent. Throughout the moment, I continue to strategize on either how to keep the momentum going, or how I should course-correct to achieve maximum results. After completing the task, I have learned to self-reflect. Through self-reflection, I have been able to learn and grow from each of my experiences; I have learned to either repeat certain behaviors or modify them to achieve a different result.
Off the field, and out of the classroom, my faith and my family, are the roots in my life. Yes, I love sports, and I enjoy school, but my true blessing are counted when I look around my dinner table, and my church. My parents have instilled life-long values and lessons, some of those have come easy, and some of those have had to be learned the hard way. Either way, these are principals that have make me the man I am today, a man who is proud to stand before you, and thank you for consideration for your collegiate organization.
