Personal Statement

While I have loved playing baseball since the age of six, I am committed to the process from the track to the weight room and from the cages to the field.  Through baseball, I discovered I am energetic, competitive and self-directed. I am a single child but part of very large extended family.  The support of family has been a driving force in my life.

I have played several sports, but I have a passion for baseball. The history, business, and study of baseball is a preoccupation of mine. Ultimately, it is my goal to be an MLB General Manager. So my college objectives are to major in Finance with Sports Management, participate in internships, and compete for and contribute to my university’s baseball team.

  • From the PBR Texas Press: Houston UC Trials: 2020 RHP/SS Shea Walker has a projectable frame at 6-2, 185-lbs, moves easy at shortstop w/ quick, athletic footwork. The RH hitter has loose hands, compact swing, smooth path through the zone. He showcased an 81-84 mph FB with heavy action when he pitched. The event was a great experience, and our team was made up of ball players from all over the United States.   • Currently, I am working with my Lights Out coach, Cedric Harris. We focus on the mechanics, pitch selection and mental aspects of hitting.
  • Pilates
  • 1 year
  • I attend pilates reformer and mat classes to increase flexibility, assist in recovery, and reduce potential injury risk. My pitching has benefited from opening up my hips more, additional rotation through my mid section and learner to use my legs during the pitching motion better.
