Seth Dowdle Batti...Personal Statement
I am a 5'5" pitcher/middle infielder from Lavon, Texas. I am a high school freshman, attending Wylie Preparatory Academy in Wylie, Texas. My GPA is currently a 4.0. Our baseball season will begin in the spring of 2018. In junior high, I won the 2017 MVP for my school team. I played pitcher/middle infielder for The Fury, a select baseball team.
I am interested in a Christian college, but I am open to all opportunities. Texas or the surrounding states (plus Kansas and Missouri) are my choices of location. Of course, I would love to play at a DI school, but I think I'm a good fit at either the DII or DIII level because I could make an immediate impact with my leadership skills.
My current academic interests are in geography and history. I am active in volunteerism and mission trips through my school. For the past three summers, I have volunteered at our local library. I earned 40+ service hours working with LaunchBox missions in Fort Worth this past summer. This semester I am on varsity for our school's inaugural cross country team.
I love sports so much. I would love to become a sports commentator or analyst some day.
