JonAlan Richardson '22 Recruiting Profile

I’ve played multiple sports including varsity basketball, my favorite by far is baseball.  At 5 years old I fell in love with the game when my dad, a former collegiate baseball pitcher at Bluefield State College, introduced me to the game in our backyard.  Over the years I have learned that having patience, good character, and discipline are the keys to playing my personal best and contributing to my team.  In my experience tight games battled to the last out of the last inning are generally won by the team that maintains the right character, discipline, and energy.  A strong work ethic and commitment to team goals are important and lead to success on and off the field. What sets me apart from most players is how energetic and loud my game is on the field.  I give my best effort and work to uplift teammates every pitch.  I work to make sure the entire team is involved in the game and always remind my pitcher that I am there behind him with solid defense.  I’m a versatile player with experience at 2^nd, SS, and 3^rd base on Varsity and travel baseball.  I work hard off the field as well and will graduate in 2022 with an Advanced Diploma from John S. Battle High School and a certificate from Virginia Highlands Community College.  I have taken advantage of the opportunity to complete Dual Enrollment and Honors classes.  I hope to continue my athletic and academic career at a college where I can major in Communications.  Thank you for considering me for your program.
