Ian Blacklin '24 Recruiting Profile

I would like to get a broad education, because there are so many subjects which interest me, and this is why I am completing the International Baccalaureate program in my high school.  I love history especially, and that really means developing an international focus. I am interested in business, and have taken cybersecurity courses as one possible way forward. Cybersecurity is now a global effort, and it is exciting and changing constantly. I like high GPA teams because I want to be in a challenging academic environment.

I am already an experienced catcher, and love helping my pitchers win, whether it's by framing pitches or picking off runners.  I train throughout the off-season, working on blocking, receiving and improving my pop time. 

It’s alway great to be on a winning team, but I especially love being on a team which is rebuilding.  I encourage my teammates whenever possible, and even when I am on the bench I believe I can help my team win. I will work hard  to help create a winning team.
