My name is Jordan Marion. I am an upcoming senior at Waynesboro High School in Waynesboro, Virginia.
My Freshman year, I was brought up to the Varsity level as a starting catcher, and earned my spot as a full season starter. I helped turn a baseball program that was once a 2 and 18 team around to a team that has continued to remain a powerhouse and end each season well over .500. Since that year, my 3A high school team has appeared in the Regional Semi-finals three consecutive times.
My junior season, I was blessed to have received 2nd Team All-District, Conference, and Region honors, all while taking advanced courses and maintaining around a 3.1 GPA.
I see every day as an opportunity. Every day I am doing something to help better myself as a player and a person, whether it be calling my head coach for keys to access our home field, or hitting in the cage for hours at a time. I approach each at-bat with the mentality of doing my job, and protect the plate like my teammates would describe, a "brick wall." I bring incredible bat speed and a powerful throwing arm to my offense and defense, but one thing that makes me stand out as an athlete is my ability to control the playing field and direct my teammates. I hustle on and off the field, even when I don't need to, and I try to separate myself from the bad habits and demonstrate traits of a leader.
Coming from a family of catchers, my goal is to continue the dream and be a part of the collegiate baseball program. Whatever it is that has to be done to reach that dream, will go into effect every single day.
