Alex Miller '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old starting out in Little League. I have wanted to play college baseball since I started catching at the age of 9. My favorite place in this world is behind home plate. Baseball has given me some of my best memories and friends.

I just finished my junior year at Moorefield High School where I have caught every inning for the last 2 years. I have had the privilege of being a member of a State Championship team and being named to the All-State Tournament team as a Sophomore. I have a strong field awareness, leadership skills, mental toughness, and a strong physical defense behind the plate. My coaches have come to trust my judgement and I am very coachable.

I work year round developing my baseball skills, participating in travel ball with Wheelhouse Arsenal, working with private coaches and high school ball with Moorefield High School in WV. I also play Varsity Football in high School where I was voted co-captain by my teammates. I also lift weights several times a week to improve my athleticism. 

My work ethic extends to the classroom as well. I have a 4.0 unweighted/4.25 weighted GPA. I am ranked 7 of 112 in my class. I am a member of the National Honor Society and have participated in the Gifted Program. I am also a member of DECA and qualified for International DECA conference last Spring. I volunteer with our local Little League where I umpire games and work with children to develop their baseball skills and share my love of the game  

I want to attend a college where I can push myself not only on the field but also in the classroom. I want to compete at the highest level of competition as possible. I am interested in studying finance/accounting/business and want to find a college that fulfills this need as well.
