I've been competitive my entire life. Even as a small child, I did everything early because I wanted to keep up with my older sister. I've also been a multisport athlete since I was 5 years old. First, I started out in gymnastics and T-ball, then began running 5ks with my parents at the age of 8. Once I entered middle school, I played volleyball, basketball, and track, but my love has always been cheer and ever since I started cheering in 7th grade, my dream has been to cheer at the college level.
I was cheer captain in my 8th-grade year and made the Varsity team in high school as a freshman. I became cheer captain as a Junior, which was the first chance I was eligible. As captain, I enjoy the challenge of not only leading the team but also helping others with their personal development in the sport. I am constantly pushing us to try new things to elevate our performances and coming up with new ideas for pep rallies and sideline routines like band dances and cheers. I also push myself to learn and improve. I have made UCA All-American 4x in the last 5 years, and I joined a competitive cheer team for a couple of years to gain more experience as a flyer and to compete at a higher level. I started out on a Junior Level 3 team and advanced to a Senior Level 4 team within 1 season. I have strong tumbling skills that include standing 2 backhand springs to a layout, standing back tuck, toe touch to tuck, and my running tumbling includes a punch front step out to round off backhand spring full.
Academics are also very important to me. I have been in honors Math since 8th grade and have maintained an overall GPA of 3.45. I am involved in Student Council, FCA, and Godley Exchangettes and continue to play Varsity volleyball and Varsity track. I volunteer to help at school events and help run the youth cheer camp each summer, plus I work part-time at the Kids Club Daycare at The Colonial Country Club.
I want to attend college to achieve a degree in business and be successful academically while continuing to compete in cheer at a higher level. I am open to all options and want to find the right college that not only supports my degree plans but also fits my desire to continue cheering at the next level. I feel that I have a lot to offer as a leader, competitive athlete, and dedicated student.
