Personal Statement
I first started playing field hockey in 3rd grade, however it wasn't until 8th grade that I truly fell in love with the sport. After being connected with a club team through an invitation to play at Shooting Stars, I realized that playing field hockey was a true passion and I would want to play through high school and into college. From this event, I was recruited to play for the varsity team at Loomis Chaffee. I think this is when I grew the most as a student-athlete. Our varsity team struggled this year, but it taught me how to focus on the teams interaction, as well as ways to improve my own game in to be successful in the future.
I currently travel home every weekend in order to continue playing with my club team. While I could transfer clubs, I have chosen to stay with FHCC because I was committed to the team and my teammates and have a very strong connection with my club. This shows my determination in making sure I am playing to the best of my ability at all times. I am always ready to improve and strive to be the best athlete I can individually and to have a big impact working with my team.
