What attracts me most to Field Hockey is how it encompasses all the different aspects of athleticism. To compete in the sport you must have speed, strength, power, agility and, hand eye coordination in everything you do on the field. To be a good player means you never stop working on these components so you can play at your best all the time. My position as a defender is one I take pride in, while scoring goals is a necessity in every game my biggest focus is getting into the offenses mind so I can make a stop or intercept their pass. For as long as I've been playing center back I have kept trying to improve my speed, strength, power, agility and, hand eye coordination so I can make these stops and never force my goalie into play. A successful game in my mind is one where the ball never has to be cleared by the goalie. No matter what team I play for I will never stop trying to improve or give the sport anything less then my best.
