I started playing field hockey in 5th grade as a secondary sport to soccer. As I got older and as my skills improved in field hockey, I decided to step back from soccer and put all my energy into hockey. I live on an island with a population of 64,000 people, and field hockey does not have a large following here. In fact, there are no middle or high school field hockey teams so when I started playing my only option was to play with a few other youth players on an adult women's team. Eventually we were able to form our own junior team in the adult women's league. We didn't have many new players joining our team, so I played with the same senior players until they left for college. Now I'm a senior player and I've tried my best to step up to the role as more and more junior players join the team. As my confidence grew, I was also able to join a mixed men's and women's team that plays in the same league.
I've wanted to go to school in the United States since I was little, and now that I'm getting older and closer to going to college I'm even more excited. I know how to balance my athletics and academics so I have no conflict or problems and I know how to manage my time so I can excel in both aspects.
I am a flexible player that will play in every position you put me in, and I'll play hard until the final whistle. I'm ambitous and always wanting to learn more skills and plays to make me a better player.
