I have learned from an early age what it means to be a competitor. Being born 15 weeks early and only weighing 1 pound 15 ounces, I have been pushing myself to overcome and succeed since the day I was born. Academics and sports play an important role in my life. I apply my competitive drive to my grades and sports. Wrestling has impacted my life by giving me confidence and perseverance. Having wrestled boys for the majority of my wrestling career, has not only made me stronger, but more importantly has shown the beauty of gaining respect from the opposite gender. This was most evident this past year when I was only 1 of 2 girls who wrestled for Blair Academy. Blair produced 6 boys National Prep champions along with myself winning the Girls 126 lb. National Prep championship. The camaraderie between the boys and myself was unparalleled. It is that team bonding experience ,respect and work ethic that I hope to bring to the collegiate level.
Due to my love of sports, I aspire to become an orthopedic surgeon with a focus in sports medicine. The ability to give back to the sports community and it's athletes is my driving force for my profession of choice.
