I began to play recreational field hockey in 5th grade after playing club ice hockey since I was eight. At the end of seventh grade, I joined a club field hockey team and quickly realized how much I loved the sport. It gives me so many opportunities to push myself and to be creative. There is always a new skill to work on, a new team-mate to learn how to play with, and a new competitor to face. I am at my best with an intense and demanding schedule, and this is why I would love to play field hockey in college.
My strengths are my speed, agility, stick skills, and dependability. At tournaments and showcases, I will play wherever I am most needed. I am also highly coachable, and a relentless, calm, encouraging, and hard-working team leader and member. I am clear-eyed about my own weaknesses and strengths, which enables me to readily work on and quickly make improvements.
I have a 4.0 GPA with a rigorous course load. I plan to take 4 AP courses next year. I was chosen as 1 out of 8 to represent my school to prospective students and families, and I coach younger students in the off-season.
I would like to find a college where I can continue to be challenged - whether on the field or in the classroom.
