Field Hockey has been a part of my life since I was very young. My mom grew up playing field hockey and introduced me to the sport when I was seven years old. Following my first season, I attended a field hockey camp sponsored by my future high school. I remember being in awe of the high school players and knew right then that I wanted to compete at their level and beyond.
I am a goal oriented person who works hard to achieve or even exceed them. I was determined early on to earn a spot on the varsity team when I was a freshman. A combination of training with my teammates and individually helped to prepare me both physically and mentally. I’m proud to say I earned a starting varsity position and played in every game the entire season, including starting our state finals game, an absolutely awesome experience!
It was an incredible season, surpassing my expectations. As I look to the future, I will strive to continue to grow my mind and my game. My teammates are like family to me, and I will strive to be the best teammate possible and work to develop my leadership skills. I hope to carry over the lessons field hockey teaches about hard work and teamwork into my life experiences.
