I am Lyla Robertson and I attend Camden High School. I have been playing field hockey since I was 8 and not only have I grown skill from the sport I have grown as a person. Field hockey has taught me leadership, responsibility, and passion, I have also learned how to work well with anyone and how to overcome obstacles. I would say I stand out a little more than others because, I am humble. Humility is something, I believe, makes a regular athlete a good athlete, especially after having huge wins it's important to stay humble and recognize the other team for the effort they put in. I have also learned composure, not only within skills but with the environment. Field hockey can get heated very quickly, from bad refs to dirty players, it's extremely important to stay calm in order to execute skills. Additionally, realizing you are playing with a team, not by yourself, it is great to have personal successes, but winning as a team and with your team is much more important. Finally, I would just like to add that I am hard working, competitive, motivated and driven; not only does it show in field hockey, but it shows through my academics. I am always striving to have the best grades and do better than I did last time.
