I am always willing to improve and will work hard every day and night to be successful in my academic and athletic activities. It is extremely important to maintain a balance between academic performance and athletic excellence. I think learning from your own mistakes is the most important part of becoming a better player. I believe there is always room for improvement and that I can always improve and do better. I will always show up for practice on time, put forth my best effort, not give up, and not complain. I always work hard to become the best player I can be.
At the beginning of the fall 2020 season, I had the basic skills of a field hockey player since I played for my middle school in 7th and 8th grade. My basic skills got me to make junior varsity as a freshman. While playing on this team, I looked up to the sophomores on the team, and even more, I looked up to the older girls playing on varsity. I knew if I wanted to play in games I had to improve and practice extra hard. After the 2020 school field hockey season ended, I began to train in the off-season. I worked hard in the off-season going to clinics and practicing in my free time. Some of the clinics I attended were with Dutchess Field Hockey, Rye Field Hockey, and Cross River Combo. I am very grateful to have been able to attend these clinics where I have learned a lot from many different couches. In the spring of 2021, I was going to Rye Field Hockey clinics and was able to go to indoor and outdoor tournaments with them. In the summer of 2021 with the Hudson Valley Field Hockey team, I attended the Wicked Smart Field Hockey Tournament in Albany NY. As 2021 -2022, the school year started, so did school field hockey. As a sophomore I made varsity. I knew I had to work even harder to gain playing time being the only underclassman to make varsity. This year during the 2022-2023, my jounior year I was a returning player on varsity. Since I was a returning player , I let my leadership skills show. This season I continued to work hard and always do my best. At every practice and game, I tried to improve. I had confidence because I knew I could do it. I am proud of my offensive skills. I care about doing my best and will not give up!
In college, I am looking forward to hopefully being a successful student-athlete and I am very excited to see what my future holds for me.
