Personal Statement

My name is Gennaro DeMaio. I’ve been playing hockey since I was very young, initially as a defenseman, and now as a goaltender. I like being a strong leader for my teammates both in the locker room and on the ice. I do a lot of work both on the ice with my goalie coach, and off the ice with my hand-eye coach as well as working out. I am determined to win every game and I am very passionate about the game.

Academically, I do very well. I have always maintained high grade point averages, and I have joined the National Honors Society. In addition, I like to do volunteer work and work part time. Family is very important to me. My Mom, Dad, and brother are all very supportive of my hockey and scholastic endeavors. I believe that I would be a great addition for both your hockey and academic programs. I excel academically and always work my hardest on everything that I put my mind to.
