Hello Coaches! My name is Ava De Natale and I am currently a Junior forward/midfielder at Valhalla High School. As a little girl watching my sister from the stands, I couldn’t wait for my chance to play field hockey. From the first time I dribbled a ball, to my games today, I feel a rush of adrenaline and the sense of belonging, teamwork, strength, and confidence. This feeling can not be matched by anything, and I know that I cannot live without this game. I am a very ambitious person who is always up for a challenge. I am a very coachable athlete who takes criticism as an opportunity to improve my play. I work very hard for everything I have accomplished, whether it be going to multiple training camps every year, playing on my club team, and working out on my own, to spending those extra minutes to make sure my school project is “perfect”. I have been a three year starter (I got named captain my third year) playing mainly center forward on my high school team. I contribute a sense of leadership and family to every team that I have been on, whether it is club or high school. Other than field hockey, I have been on my school's varsity softball team for the past two seasons, I participate in clubs at my school including our CODA club, I am a member of my schools band, and I am a dedicated student as well. I have maintained high honor role grades for all of my high school semesters so far, as well as receiving my school's Earth Science award last year.
I am very excited to be continuing my athletic career in college, and I cannot wait to get in contact with you! Thanks!
