Thandiwe Schmidt '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Thandiwe Schmidt for the year 2026! I am a defense starter for my High School team, Nansemond River High School, but in past years, I’ve played Forward and Mid. I also play these positions for my Club team, Focus Field Hockey. As a student, I’ve taken mostly honors classes, but I also take AP and DC courses. I take part in helping my community with my school’s Beta Club and National Honors Society. I’m a Morgan’s Message Ambassador at my school to spread awareness about Athlete’s mental health. I’ve been a competitive swimmer since I was seven but started my sophomore year on my high school varsity team and have quickly had a leadership role amongst my teammates. I practice with my teammates on the side for any stick improvements and gain muscle and endurance with my conditioning Coach. I want to accomplish a good team with equal goals and get along despite differences while lifting each other to accomplish our individual goals.
