Peter Mitchell '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Pete Mitchell, and I go to Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado.  I am a 6'4" senior quarterback, and I am nearing the end of my second year as the starting varsity quarterback for my team. One of my main goals this year is to improve my gpa and to become an honor roll student, and currently I am on pace to achieve that goal

I have improved my physical strength as well as my forty time, and I believe that I have the skills to run the ball as well as read defenses and make the type of throws that my team needs to be successful. Playing quarterback at the collegiate level is a dream of mine, and although I prefer staying in the pocket, I have run option and read option with much success since I was 11 years old.  I have run many offenses, including the wishbone, spread, read-option, and traditional pro-style offenses. I have thrown about 20-25 passes a game on average since I was 11 years

Last summer, I spent a lot of time going to camps to refine my mechanics, as well as to improve my ability to read defenses and make good decisions.  I still have a lot to learn, but I am confident I have a great foundation in these areas.

My goal is to go to a great university where I can become the best student athlete I can be.  I am a leader, and I have been taught for a long time now to never point the finger when things go wrong, to do my best to make things happen for my team no matter the situation.  I always believe I can help my teams compete for a championship, no matter what level I am playing in.  I don't quit, and I have been a part of many last minute drive victories over the years while playing quarterback.  I always know there is something more I can do to prepare, and there is always something I can do on the field to get the job done for my team.
