Braxton Waddell '25 Recruiting Profile

Born , adopted at a young age, and raised in Durango, CO, I began playing tackle football in the third grade. I have played several positions over the years but middle linebacker has been my main position as well as my favorite position. I am on the varsity football team at Durango High School. I am a team captain and will be graduation May 2025. I enjoy being a part of the team whether I am on the field or on the sidelines cheering on my teammates. I played basketball in middle school, and have wrestled since the age of 5. I was part of the DHS wrestling team 9th through 11th grades, wrestling varsity squad in both 10th and 11th grades. I feel being involved in multiple sports allowed me to be a more well rounded athlete, building strength in several areas, as well as building confidence in myself both on and off the field/mat. Wrestling taught me body awareness, accountability, and mental strength that has served me well in football over the years. 

My goal is to play football in college, ideally for a D1 school but I am open to other options. Although I may be labeled as "class clown" at times, I am aware of when being serious, focused, and committed is important. I learn quickly when it comes to things I find interesting, and enjoy doing. I ask questions, or seek assistance when needed to better myself and/or help others. I am a hard worker, loyal, and reliable. I would take pride in being a first generation college graduate, with playing football being a very appreciated bonus.
