Hello my name is Winfield F.F. Hunter. I just turned 18, stand at 6'3.5", and weigh 190lbs. My passion for football started later for me, only going out after it was recommended by a football legend (University of Minnesota Darrel Thompson)so I began my sophomore year in high school; and I couldn't have loved it more! I was a starter on JV team and averaged approximately 3 touchdowns per game.
One reason you want me on your team is that I'm a perfectionist. I will not stop training until I meet my goals and aspirations, and then reset them higher. If there is some skill I'm lacking I will work on it until it's perfect whether its catching with my left hand or keeping my shoulders over my toes on breaks. I scored 4 touchdowns, caught 18 passes, had 353 yards, and received All-Conference Honorable Mention as a junior on the varsity squad (non-starter). My goals for my senior season was to have 20 all purpose touchdowns. In order to do this I dropped my 40 time down tremendously (4.57), worked on route running, and became a student who studies all aspects of the game during the summer of 2015. This work was done with a personal WR coach (Lewis Garrison who is Minnesota Gopher Football Alumni). If you would like to contact him about my abilities his number is (651)-263-2765. And after all the preseason work was completed, unfortunately, I suffered a high ankle injury during my second game. This injury (impact and not a bio mechanical failure) caused me to miss more than half of my senior season. That being said, I came back from the injury and finished my HS career as the 4th overall receiver in the school's history, and was a team captain.
Given my young age (youngest in my graduating class) I have decided to do a post-graduate at Suffield Academy in Suffield, CT. This is a preferred route for me on two fronts: this opportunity gives me a chance to prove my abilities to any coach who shows an interest in what I can offer their schools, and to also further my academic skills (GPA 3.65) for my college career.
If you have me on your team, I will not stop training until I am the best receiver in the country. That is a promise.
