Brandon Black '14 Recruiting Profile

I'm a player who strives to be the best and push my teamates to be even better. I care more about winning then personal stats, but if i had the option I'd want the ball in my hands. You see all of these so called "underdogs" who come out of nowhere to become the next NFL star, but you never see a guy like me. A reciever who makes the catches and gets the first down. Although I'm not the fastest or have the best open space moves, I bring an element that allows an offense to achieve first down after first down which moves the ball down the field and take valuable time off the clock. Another asset i believe I bring is the ability to go up and make the catch in the redzone. If i had to compare myself to an NFL player, I'd probably resemble a Jake Ballard or a Tony Gonzalez. Although I'm a bit shorter and not nearly as strong, I feel I have quite similar ball skills. What I want to achieve from my football career is simple. I want to earn a scholarship to play division 1 football to a strong academic school that allows a prominent job future to fall back on after my dreamed NFL career. Being an athlete who had never weightlifted or practiced key ball skills before this year, I feel like I have alot that I could work on to improve my overall ability that much more. If anyone gave me the chance, I'm sure to do the dirty work and earn my glory.
