Jeremy Frederick '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'11", 160 lb running back who is attending Wheeling High School in Wheeling IL. I play three sports year round - football, basketball and track. I was a starter on the freshman and sophomore football teams (2008/2009 and 2009-2010). I was the football MVP (2009/2010) and the 2010 sophomore champion of the running backs/linebackers Lift-A-Thon. I was the 2008-2009 MVP of the freshman - sophomore track and field team, and again for a second consecutive year, I am the MVP for the 2009-2010 freshmen - sophomore track team. I have also been a member of the 4x200m 2009/2010 conference champion relay team. I was a starter on the freshman basketball team and made significant contributions on the sophomore team. My GPA is presently 4.6 on a 5.0 scale. I am a hard working student-athlete who is considered to be a leader on and off the field by my teammates, peers, teachers and coaches. I am a well rounded student who not only participates in sports but also plays the violin in my school's orchestra. I have given back to the community by playing my violin to the elderly at nursing homes and for parties. I am looking for an institution where I can find the right balance between academics and sports. I have not decided on a major, therefore I would prefer to attend a university with a broad range of programs, including accounting and chemical engineering. My ideal athletic environment would be one in which I could make an impact on the football team starting in my first or second year.
