Training work
CFC CampI have always liked all aspects of football. I love analyzing the defense and offensive strategies of my team, my opponents and teams I watch on tv. I enjoy studying the game, but I enjoy playing it even more. I like the challenge of pushing myself and my teammates mentally and physically. I went to Ontario Championships for javelin and now train at York University for javelin with the Athletics Canada coach. I enjoy the challenge of throwing far, but football has so many other dynamic aspects that I enjoy. It challenges my good memory and ability to learn along with my other physical skills.
Sports and competition have always been a big part of my life. My dad was a dual athlete, football and track, at Penn State University and he has always played with my brother and I on our farm. My brother is only a year younger and loves sports and competition too, so I have always had a training partner. As young kids, and even today, we spend hours, throwing balls, hitting balls, kicking balls, racing, and competing in the back field in just about any type of competition you can think of. For example, right now we are working together for the 10,000 catch challenge.
When I’m not playing sports, I am working at my school work or one of my several jobs. I umpire youth baseball games in my hometown and have learned how to deal and manage all types of people. I also co-own a sweet corn business on my farm with my brother. The sweat and hard work in the fields has taught me to work hard in all types of conditions. I deal with all types of customers with my business. These work experiences have helped me be a better leader on the field because I can connect with different types of personalities and make sure the team is on the same page.
