I love the game of football. It began in fourth grade, and has continued on to this day. I have trained hard through adversity and dedication, which has led to me being a starter on my high school’s varsity football team since I was a freshman. I took on the role of team captain my Junior year. I show leadership through my actions both on and off the field. Through my experiences, I have also become a better communicator and team member.
This year, I broke the single season tackle record at my school with 135 tackles. I contribute my success on the field to the training I do in the off-season, such as weights year-round, football camps, speed and agility camps, and other athletic activities that keep me physically fit. As my senior year approaches, I know I must stay focused and put in work in order to achieve my goals.
Education has also been a large part of my life. I am very academically driven and strive everyday in the classroom. I am ranked first in my class and have a 4.05 gpa. Outside of academics and athletics, I feel it is important to be involved in other activities and be active in the community. I am a member of 4-H, Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Leap Academy, Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership and volunteer for my community. The most rewarding part of volunteering is working with the youth sport teams on weekends.
My academic background, coupled with my athletic experiences, has prepared me to play football at the collegiate level. I am looking for a school that will continue to challenge me and supply me with opportunities to further my experiences both academically and athletically.
