When I began throwing, I never thought I would be imagining it as my pathway to college, but as I improved, I realized throwing was my sport. There is no feeling better than hitting an almost pitch perfect throw and launching the disc or shot to win. In addition to track and field, I also participate in football and wrestling in addition to various clubs and organizations at my high school. With my brother as my teammate and lifting partner, he helps me get stronger and faster since we both want to see the other succeed. Both my mother and father are my coaches, with my father being my main throws coach. A testament to my coachability was evident when I transitioned from glide to rotational shot put three weeks prior to winning Class 1A state shot put. Always ready to try new ways of improving my technique, I was blessed to to win both the indoor and outdoor 1A Kentucky State Championships in shotput as well as placing third in discus for outdoor. Going into my last two years of high school, I have kept a 4.0 GPA every year and I have achieved a 25 on my ACT. My plan is to attend college with hopes for throwing at the collegiate level with my academic interest being in the healthcare field with aspirations to become a physician assistant.
