Personal Statement
I hope to one day become a physician and help people to feel better and live longer. I have watched closely my father, a Family Practice physician, work tirelessly with his patients. I admire the commitment and passion he shows in caring for them. I would love one day to be able to know that I helped to save a life, not for the recognition, but for that feeling in your chest you get when you have made a difference. I know it will a difficult, long road to becoming a physician, but I believe all things are possible.
I started swimming last year in 7th grade. I didn't know much about it, other than I enjoy it, I'm pretty fast and might as well try competitive swimming out. I have since fallen in love with the sport. I'm in my second year of swimming now and sometimes I'm winning over opposing teams high school students. My Coaches have honored me with awards and have told me I have a bright future in swimming competitively if I am interested. I want to prove them right! I'm excited to see what my high school swim career holds. I am signing up personally for summer college swim camps, because I want to better myself and help my high school team next year! I am currently doing year round land training, which isn't mandatory, because I want to be better. I want to swim at the collegiate level one day and be an integral part of a winning team! It is my dream and I plan on making it a reality, with your help.
