Jaylen Watkins '19 Recruiting Profile

The highlight of my 8th grade year was winning the Parish Championship for the second time in football and basketball. I was fortunate enough to be a part of that program being coached by my dad. Throughout the years of being coached by my dad, I've learned the value of teammate, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. The intangible skills I have developed have allowed me to be a good all-around athlete and have prepared me to excel as astudent athlete at the next level.

I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I value the educational aspect of the student-athlete experience as much as the great athletic experiences I hope to be a part of. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a team in a major conference, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a three-sport athlete and a four time captain, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
