Personal Statement
My name is Nate Holmberg and I am a 18-year-old senior from Saline, Michigan. I will graduate from Saline High School in June of 2021. I am a 6’1”, 185-pound Wide Receiver. I am a 2-year starter and was named All-Conference my senior year. I am a physical and athletic receiver with great hands and I also pride myself on my blocking abilities as well.
I have been playing football since starting high school my freshman year. I excelled quickly on the Freshman Team where I started and was named the Offensive Team MVP leading the team in receptions and touchdowns. I then went on to play my sophomore year on JV and also practiced and took reps at the Varsity level. During my sophomore year, we reached the state final four in playoffs. I started JV and led the team in receptions. For my junior year, I started on Varsity and we went on to make the playoffs before losing in the first round to Belleville. In my senior year, I started on Varsity and was named All-Conference. We won our district, and are currently preparing for regionals.
I focus and work hard on my physical skills and fitness to stay in shape. I spend many hours at the field working on footwork, running routes, and catching balls with the QBs. I also work on my strength with my work in the weight room.
I am a multi-sport athlete. I played basketball and baseball growing up. I have been playing basketball at the varsity level since my sophomore year of high school.
Currently, mid-way through my senior year at Saline High School, I have a 3.46 GPA and in the Spring, I will become a 4x time honor roll student. I am a still at this point in time undecided about my major.
Football has been a staple in my life for the last four years and I have appreciated all the lessons and experiences I have learned. I am not only talented technically and tactically, but I am also very coach-able. I love to train hard as I believe that this is how you play in the game. Colleges in my search will include schools that will allow me an opportunity to make a significant contribution to a college program along with rich academic experience.
