Personal Statement
My name is Brayden Spears and I am a Senior kicker on Varsity football team at Lincoln High School in Thief River FalIs Minnesota. I have been kicking field goals since 7th grade and kicked my first extra point for varsity when I was in 9th grade. My passion for kicking started when I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old. My last 3 years of soccer I had to play on an 18u team since we had low numbers. It pushed me to become better not only at kicking but my outlook on my athletics.
With the help of my Mother, Father (& Sister) and my Coaches, I have been able to blast ahead of my kicking goals. By the end of my sophomore year I wanted to be consistent at 35 yards with a long of 45. I have met that goal and I am now consistent at 45 with a long at 50 to 52. My longest in game FG was 33 yards with 5 seconds left for the win. My goal by my end of senior year is to be consistent at 55 yards with long in the 60's.
Football has been very special for me. With the comradery of the team and the expectations of the coaches, it has given me amazing memories, friends for life and life lessons I will use for ever.
I think I would be a great candidate for your team because I am great in school with an outstanding GPA. I was just recently inducted into the National Honers Society. I work hard on and off the field and hold myself to the highest standards.
