John Wilke '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is John Philip Wilke III. I am 6’5” 350lbs. I am an rising senior on my high school football team and play offensive line. There are two highlights in my football career that explain why I choose to play football. The first one, in chronological order, is the 2018 win against Briarcrest Academy. My team was losing when we went into halftime. However, when we came back out, we turned it around and won the game. The atmosphere was amazing and the fans were excited. My all time favorite moment in my football career was when  me and my team won the 2019 State Championship. I was overjoyed that all the work I had done all year had finally paid off. For me, these two moments highlight why I love the sport of football. I love the atmosphere and brotherhood that comes with the sport. I also enjoy playing the game and having something to invest my time and effort in. I wouldn’t trade the experiences and teammates I made over the season for anything.
