Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Julian Young, and I am 17 years old Student-Athlete. I have a 4.05 GPA, I weigh 190 pounds, and I am 6'ft tall. I am a junior at St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, NJ. I have played varsity football & varsity track since I was a freshman. I am also involved within the community being apart of the CAC (Catholic Athletes for Christ) where we complete hundreds of hours of community service. My primary positions in football are a linebacker and tight end/wing. During the 2019 season, I played both sides of the ball defense. I led my team in tackles with 80 (38 being solo); I had 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble. In track, I run the 100m, 55m and throw the javelin. Last year I was ranked 9th in my graduating class in the state of New Jersey for throwing Javelin with a personal record of 137.4. I am humble and thankful to say that I put work in in the classwork, during training, and on the field. For this, I have received multiple academic and athletic awards for school and other associations. I also play on the US International Team and earned the Defensive Player of the Game Award in the 2018 International Bowl.
I'm a hard worker that has good morals and character. I am respectful, determined, and responsible. The reason I possess these attributes is that I am a well-balanced student-athlete with three part-time jobs that I do between training, school work, and at-home responsibilities. I know what being a team player is all about and I love being part of a team, the brotherhood and friendships last forever. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get my team to the next level. My life dream is to play and become a leader on a college football team. I also strive to receive a college degree like both of my parents. The main reason my passion for the game and my grind to succeed is so strong is that of my family, without them I would have nothing.
My favorite Bible verse can be found in Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human master..."
Thank you for your time, God bless!
