Personal Statement
The most influential point of my high school football career is when we lost in the district title game my sophomore year. I was an underweight sophomore playing outside linebacker going against a senior tight end who was physically better than me. I had a very hard time getting off of his blocks and the double teams. After the loss, I realized that I was too weak and small to do the things I wanted to do as far as helping the team. When the season ended I knew that I had to put in a lot more effort in the offseason so that I could contribute what my team deserved. I started weight training and attending camps so that I could improve myself.
I am also a three year starter for the baseball team and a starter for the basketball team. I played on a traveling AAU basketball team during the summers of my eighth grade year through my sophomore summer. I am known on all my teams as someone that gets in and is the physical kind of player that nobody else wants to be. I am a team leader. I am in Key Club and I attend First Baptist Church in Purcell, Oklahoma.
Sports are something that have been a part of my life since I was 5 years old. I know the dedication and hard work it takes to succeed both on the field and off. Even with playing three school sports and traveling sports commitments, I have maintained a 3.5 GPA or better. I would love the opportunity to continue playing this game I love at the next level.
