My name is Elijah Martin. I live in Draper, Utah with my Aunt Tana Archer and my Uncle James Archer. I moved to Utah during the summer of 2019 to give myself a better opportunity for my academic, as well as athletic future. Before moving to Utah I was homeless with my twin sister Tana Martin and my Mom Talauna Martin, living on my moms ex boyfriends boat. Early on in my life my parents battled drug and alcohol addiction, which caused them to have legal issues as well. I have moved over 12 times due to foster care, child protection services, custody battles and evictions. I don't use any of this as an excuse for not being academically responsible, but it was definitely adversity that posed challenges along the way. But, I never gave up and will not give up! Leaving my home state and friends wasn't going to be easy, but something I knew I needed so I reached out to my aunt. Since being in Utah, I have raised my gpa from a 1.9 to a 2.533 and I will continue to raise my gpa as the year goes on. In addition, I have not missed a single day of school. My goal is to graduate high school with a 3.0 or higher and get into a college of my choice. My dream is to continue my football career in collage with a scholarship.
