Hi! I'm Jonathan Walters, but I go by my middle name, Isaiah. Right now I am a sophomore at Battlefield High School and will graduate in 2022. I have played different sports all my life, but my passion and skills are as a quarterback and leader on and off the field. I have always had great relationships with my coaches because I bust my butt during practice and games, I’m very coach-able (their words) and I also commit to off-season workouts, arriving early and staying late. Daily I’m improving myself with individual drills, multiple training sessions with my quarterback and strength and agility coaches and I even wake up at 5:30 on school days to cook myself breakfast – I think I’m a little nuts for that last part.
As committed as I am to self-improvement, I am just as committed to my teammates. I lead by example and always push teammates to do their best, often inviting, and sometimes dragging, them to training with me. I maintain a positive attitude and supportive relationship with my teammates and fellow students, often using humor to lighten stressful situations and just make others laugh and enjoy life.
Even though I'm passionate about football, my first priority is to my education. In school I am challenging myself with Pre-AP classes and will complete foreign language requirements for an advanced diploma ahead of schedule. I stay on top of my own studies, and also help classmates when they're struggling. I am respectful to my coaches, teachers, and ALL school staff.
I have attended Trent Dilfer’s QB Epic the last two years. During both camps multiple coaches noted and commended me on my ball accuracy and footwork. I look forward to using those skills in playing highly competitive college football and being extremely loyal and committed to my team’s success. Previously I attended the Elite 11 regionals down in VA Beach and VTO Sports combine in Raleigh, North Carolina. At the Elite 11 regionals I placed second in the Pro Day competition and was named Top 5 for quarterbacks at the VTO Sports combine.
I'm getting pretty pumped for the upcoming summer. I'm definitely attending the 2020 Blue-Grey All-American Regional Combine in Tennessee on May 2nd and have also been nominated as a Delegate representing Virginia at the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston - it would be a great non-football experience!
