I have always loved the game of football, and started playing tackle when I was nine years old. As a multi-sport athlete I have been able to stay in shape and have been resilient. I was naturally able to kick the football and my youth teams won many games because extra points are worth two in that league. Once I got to high school and started kicking and punting well (Varsity kicker/punter as a sophomore), as well as participating in kicking camps, I started dreaming of being able to use my talents to be able to play in college.
As a Freshman I started utilizing our strength coach and paying attention to my nutrition to get into the best shape that I can. I was prepared to play a field position, and was actually slated to start at Safety as a Senior; however, my coach decided that his 2nd Team All-District (working to be All-Region Kicker/Punter this year) kicker was too valuable to risk getting hurt. That being said, I have had to make a number of tackles on the plays I have been in, not to mention a number of runs on broken plays and a pass on a fake. I am looking forward to working with a true Special Teams coach that can help me perfect my craft.
As a student-athlete I understand the importance of performing in the classroom. While I have dreams of playing after college I need to have a career off the field. Both of my parents have worked hard to provide for me and my siblings, and they have shown me the value of a career and being able to support myself and my family.
My goal is to attend a University where I can excel on the football field and in the classroom, and make lifelong friends in the locker room and elsewhere on campus. I hope to represent myself, my school, my friends and my family the best I can, and have some fun doing so.
