Matt Foust '12 Recruiting Profile

I am Matt Foust, a senior at Monacan High School in Richmond, VA.  I am a 6' 2 1/2", 250 lb. offensive lineman (center\guard),long snapper, and defensive end.  Since the middle of my sophomore year, I have been the starting Center for Monacan - the only member from the class of 2012 to start on varsity as a sophomore.  As a junior I started 9 out of 10 games - 7 at center and 2 at right guard due to injuries.   Over my 3 years on varsity I have played over 1100 plays with the majority from the center position.  With over 1000 snaps from center, all but a handful have been from the shotgun.

This summer at the National Underclassmen Combine, I was timed at 5.29 seconds in the 40 yd. dash, 5.50 in the 20-yard shuttle, benced 185 lbs. 10 times, had a vertical leap of 22.5" and a broad jump of 6' 9".   I was invited to the 2011 East NUC Ultimate 100 combine, and I performed well enough to be invited to the Top Prospect Developmental camp in Norman, Oklahoma. 

My preference is to go to college on the east coast, but will look at any college across the country that can provide me with a quality education.  I am open to the size or type of school that I attend as long as they offer a diverse and quality educational experience.  Currently I have a 3.2568 GPA with the majority of my classes being AP or Honors.  My first attempt at the SAT yielded a 560 in Critical Reading (69th percentile) and a 560 (64th percentile) in Math for a combined score of 1120.

Currently, I am considering a double major in History and either Business or Teaching. 

For my future goals in football, I would like to find a highly competitive program that I could work my way into the lineup in some capacity my first year, and by at least my second year be a starter.   I believe I have a lot to contribute to a team as I have a good grasp of the game from a linemen's perspective, enjoy the physical rigors of the sport and workouts, and am highly competitive when it comes to this game. 

One of my biggest attributes is my size and frame, 6' 2 1/2"/250 lbs.    However, at this current range, I believe I could easily put on another 40-50 quality pounds and become a dominant force along someone's offensive line.
