My name is Giovanni Luis Rodriguez and I am very passionate about sports and my academics. Currently I am a Freshmen at Pete Knight High School. As a Freshman I have participated in the Football Team as a Tight End and Defense End, in addition I played with the Freshman Basketball Team as a Power Forward and Center. With both teams, I was a Starter and Team Captain. I would constantly work with the coach and teammates to improve our game and team moral. Sports is my passion and my aspiration is to play for a college basketball or football team. This drives me to constantly prepare myself, physically and psychologically. During my lunchtime at school, I practice my shooting. During my sixth period, I train with the both, the football and basketball teams. In the offseason for basketball, I join the local basketball travel team, I go on long hikes, I jog about 3 miles on a nightly basis, and often attending the gym for bodybuilding. I also enjoy reading about my favorite player’s biography and watching their games for inspiration, motivation, and new techniques. Any down time that I have, I watch my own films, take notes, and observe where I can improve my game. I usually spend around 60-70 hours a week working on my game.
As far as my academics, I am part of the Digital Design and Engineering Academy Program. I have received awards such as the CTE Excellence in Action Award from the California State Senate, a Certificate of Recognition by Assemblyman Tom Lackey, and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition. I feel that my hard work, excellent work ethics, and my multitasking skills can successfully conquer my goals to become a future Engineer. I believe that when you truly love something you will find a solution to meet and exceed expectations.
